FAQ

Questions worth asking before you enquire

Coaching

What actually happens in a session?

Each session is 75 minutes. We work on whatever matters most to you at that point, usually a live decision, a pattern you keep returning to, or a situation at work you have not said out loud anywhere else. I ask questions, tell you what I see, and help you think it through to a decision you can stand behind.

How long does an engagement last, and why every three to four weeks?

An initial engagement runs for six months, around seven or eight sessions. The spacing is deliberate. Three to four weeks gives you time to test something, notice what happened, and bring it back. Weekly coaching produces conversation; this produces change.

Is it confidential?

Yes. Everything we discuss stays between us.

Who gets involved if my firm is paying?

Where a firm is sponsoring the coaching, goals may be agreed openly at the outset with your sponsor. Session content stays between us.

Is coaching right for me, and when is it not?

Coaching suits people who want to think more clearly and decide for themselves. It is not for anyone wanting answers handed to them, anyone wanting other people fixed, or anyone who needs clinical support rather than coaching. If that is what you need, I will say so and point you in the right direction.

How is coaching regulated, and what should I look for in a coach?

Coaching is self-regulated, which means anyone can call themselves a coach. Look for a recognised credential and a published code of ethics. I am a Certified Professional Coach, hold the ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential and work to the ICF Code of Ethics.

Firms and programmes

How do you tailor a programme to our firm?

Every programme starts with a conversation about your firm, your people and what you are actually trying to change. Proposals are then scoped and priced clearly. Nothing is lifted off a shelf.

What does it cost?

Proposals are scoped and priced clearly after an initial conversation. No over-servicing, no surprises.

Speaking

What do you speak about?

A range of topics across leadership in professional services and corporate culture, from judgement and decision-making to leading through change. Every talk is shaped around the audience.

How long are your talks?

Keynotes from 45 minutes. Longer sessions and workshop combinations are available.

Do you travel?

Yes. In person across the UK and internationally, or delivered by video.
